# Continuously Breaking Through My Own Style

Kellen, who joined ALP in early 2021, has the appearance of a sincere and straightforward individual. As a planner in the early stages of the company's solution products, Kellen assists clients in implementing automation equipment and is a core member of the Tech-Enabled Logistics Department.

Embarking on a cross-disciplinary adventure, believes in trying things out rather than fearing the unknown.

Formerly a civil engineer working on hotel construction in Cambodia, Kellen returned to Taiwan in 2020 due to the impact of the pandemic on local hotels, including the project he was involved in. His familiarity with the field of civil engineering led him to seek a new direction in his career. It was during this time that he encountered ALP.

Although not Kellen's first encounter with ALP—he had heard the CEO's lecture while pursuing his graduate studies at National Taiwan University—his understanding of ALP was initially limited to land development. It wasn't until he delved deeper into the company's solutions that he grasped the comprehensive nature of what ALP offers. This newfound understanding sparked his interest in the logistics industry, prompting him to submit his resume to ALP.

The Solutions Department addresses long-standing industry challenges.

With the changing labor structure and the loss of grassroots labor, many clients seek technological and automated solutions to enhance warehouse efficiency. The Logistics Solution Department analyzes supply chains to identify optimization solutions. By integrating the company's internal software and hardware technologies, the department provides clients with complete logistics solutions.

Kellen is primarily responsible for designing and planning the application of automated hardware in client logistics solutions. After completing the planning phase, the implementation team takes over for on-site installation, delivering an end-to-end solution tailored to the client's needs. As a pioneer in Taiwan's logistics real estate, ALP sets new benchmarks in the industry by driving various innovative breakthroughs. Kellen is actively involved in promoting industry upgrades, participating in collaborative projects and research initiatives with the government.

"When you finish something, and the results turn out well, there's a sense of accomplishment," says Kellen. Despite facing challenges when he first joined the company, such as assisting ALP in obtaining certifications from equipment manufacturers for automation services, he approached the task with an open learning mindset. The process of dealing with unfamiliar professional terms did not discourage him. Instead, he adopted a spirit of learning and seeking assistance when needed, ultimately successfully obtaining the certification. While encountering difficulties in the job is inevitable, receiving recognition and feedback from supervisors and colleagues serves as the driving force for his continued efforts.

Flexibility and autonomy are meant to empower individuals at ALP.

When discussing his experience at ALP, Kellen acknowledges the trust extended by supervisors and the company, providing a great deal of flexibility for everyone to unleash their potential. In contrast to other companies, ALP operates as a flat organization without complex hierarchies. Team members can directly engage with supervisors when needed, facilitating swift communication. The open-office layout also grants him considerable freedom to switch seats and change the work environment based on his mood. Meetings at ALP prioritize purpose, aiming to integrate the ideas of project participants, solve problems, coordinate follow-ups, and gain insights into what other departments are working on, thus fostering new perspectives.

When asked about the mindset during life-changing moments, Kellen describes it as follows: "There is always some fear, but if you don't take that step, you will never see any change." Adhering to this work philosophy, Kellen's journey from overseas back to Taiwan and from civil engineering to logistics has shaped the unique individual he is today.
